In the month of January we will be putting one of our newer acquisitions in the spotlight: Koen. He works for the damage management service in the transport department. He will be 54 this month, has been married for 27 years and has 2 sons aged 20 and 14.

I am employed at the Transport & Marine department for damage management. Together with my colleagues, we manage all claims files for customers active in the transport and fishing sectors.

Every case is different and therefore offers the necessary variety. I find it motivating to assist customers in the follow-up of their files. And as icing on the cake, I am surrounded by fantastic colleagues, who never find it too much to assist me in the sector.

I have only been employed at D'hondt Insurance starting from the month of June of 2021. After a short introduction, I was allowed to work in the current dossiers of colleagues, from which I learned a lot. My first contacts were with a French-speaking customer in response to an ongoing dossier of a colleague.

I also like to take pictures with a digital SLR camera with interchangeable lenses, with as few adjustments as possible in a photo editing program. At the age of 12 I was already walking around with a (then analog) SLR camera around my neck. I also have a passion for cars and in particular for the French brand Renault. I was lucky enough to have already driven 2 oldtimers, a Renault Fuego from 1986 and a Renault 12 from 1973. Unfortunately, due to lack of space and time, I had to sell these.

Since I really enjoy my job, I aspire to no other position at D'hondt Insurance than the one for which I was recruited. On the other hand, I strive to do my job as well as possible in the interest of our customers.

Outside of work I am a garden lover and can completely clear my head during chores in our garden. I built our garden completely myself with many different trees, shrubs and perennials, ranging from spring to autumn bloomers and from deciduous to evergreen species.

Do you also want to be part of our team?

Look at all our open vacancies and maybe you will be a part of Team D'hondt soon.
